About Big Ben Kids
Big Ben Kids is part of Zo Kinderopvang and offers high-quality childcare in an international context. Our locations are vibrant cultural melting pots offering both English-speaking and multilingual care. At our Scheveningen site, we have 4 day care groups and 3 out-of-school care groups, welcoming children from expat and internationally minded families.
We believe every child is unique and should be free to discover the world through play. That’s why we offer a second home where children feel safe, can be themselves, and are encouraged to develop their talents. Parents are closely involved in their child’s daily adventures, and our team consists of passionate childcare professionals, many with international backgrounds.
Role as Location Manager
As Location Manager, you're the heart of the centre – the first person children, parents, staff, and external partners turn to. You ensure daily operations run smoothly while championing a safe, enriching, and inclusive environment. Your hands-on involvement keeps you closely connected to the team and the children, while your leadership shapes a strong, professional, and internationally-minded community.
- Guide and coach staff with support from pedagogical coaches; ensure strong scheduling and high-quality care
- Represent your location with confidence during family tours, stakeholder meetings, and daily interactions
- Monitor performance, take action on bottlenecks, and maintain a visible and supportive presence on the floor
You profile
You bring a strong foundation of leadership within the world of childcare or similarly child-centered environments. Your communication skills in both Dutch and English enable you to lead diverse teams, and your leadership style is rooted in empathy and motivation. You're not only a manager, but also a coach who truly sees and supports the individuals behind each role. With an international mindset, you adapt easily to different cultural contexts, including expat families. You are someone who thrives in dynamic settings, always seeking solutions and ways to move your team forward.
- Proven leadership experience in childcare or similar fields
- B1 level proficiency in both Dutch and English (minimum CEFR B2 / Dutch 3F)
- Inspiring, people-oriented leader with international and proactive mindset
What we offer
- A one-year contract for 32–36 hours per week, with the intention to convert to permanent employment;
- A salary according to the Dutch Childcare CAO, scale 9–10, depending on experience;
