Activities and Development
Our activities are not only based on central themes but also have a strong outdoor focus. This means we emphasize green living, being outdoors, and sustainability. We track the children’s development using BSO passports, and when necessary, we discuss their progress with parents during handovers.
Our approach aligns fully with Zo’s philosophy, encouraging children to grow in and with nature. This includes learning about the seasons, discovering nature, and playing outdoors as much as possible.
Outdoor Play and Vacation Programs
At Zo Outdoor BSO at Ferguson, we take pride in our Green Cement Certification, which highlights our commitment to activities and excursions centered on nature, outdoor play, and sustainability. We ensure that children spend at least 90 minutes outdoors every day, regardless of the weather—except in cases of severe storms when we seek safety indoors.
Our location features a spacious, enclosed outdoor area where children can climb and play freely. We frequently embark on adventures to the forest, the beach, or through the neighborhood with litter pickers, fostering awareness about sustainability. Occasionally, we visit playgrounds or public squares for additional fun.
Child Participation
We actively involve children in planning their day. They can choose between two activities, with options tailored to different age groups. Additionally, they can share their ideas for daily and holiday activities via a suggestion box.
Child participation is crucial as it fosters a sense of responsibility and self-confidence. Children also help with tasks such as distributing fruit, keeping time, and tidying up, making them feel more engaged with the group.
Our Team
Our team consists of four permanent pedagogical professionals, all of whom are true outdoor enthusiasts. The team’s strong connection is rooted in their shared passion for nature. With a nature guide, a camper, and a gardening hobbyist among us, we bring our love for the outdoors to the children, creating a warm and inspiring environment.

Hourly rate for After School Care (52 weeks): €11.70
Hourly rate for After School Care (40 weeks): €13.46
The phone number for our after-school care (06 15 87 49 78) is available on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 2:00 PM, and on Wednesday and Friday from 12:00 PM. We are less reachable during pick-up times.
At this location, we operate with two groups, accommodating a maximum of 44 children per day. To maintain a calm atmosphere and consider age differences, we divide the group into three smaller subgroups during meals. The children range in age from 4 to 12, and we ensure that table arrangements align with their ages to create a pleasant and peaceful mealtime environment.
We pick up the children using BSO buses and/or an electric cargo bike. Children from the Eerste Nederlandse Montessori School (ENMS) are collected together with those from Nutsschool Laan van Poot, while children from Montessori basisschool Valkenbos are picked up along with those from Christelijke Montessori School de Abeel.
We aim to assign consistent pedagogical professionals to school pick-ups so that the children are greeted by familiar faces each day.
